16 U.S.C. § 119a — Boundaries

This section draws the exact boundary lines for Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. The park was authorized under section 119 of this title, and this section spells out precisely which land it covers, using the public land survey system based on the Gila and Salt River meridian. The park boundary includes the following land: Township 20 north, range 23 east: all of sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34, 35, and 36. Township 20 north, range 24 east: all of the township. Township 20 north, range 25 east: all of sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, and 18. Township 19 north, range 23 east: all of sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. Township 19 north, range 24 east: all of sections 2 through 10; the northwest quarter and the north half of the northeast quarter of section 11; and all of sections 16, 17, 18, 21, 28, and 33. It also includes, separately, the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of section 27. Township 18 north, range 24 east: all of sections 4 and 9; the southwest quarter of section 10; and all of sections 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 33, 34, 35, and 36. Township 17 north, range 24 east: the west halves of sections 2, 11, 14, 23, and 26; and all of sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33. Township 17 north, range 23 east: all of sections 34, 35, and 36. Township 16 north, range 24 east: the west halves of sections 3 and 10; and all of sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Township 16 north, range 23 east: all of sections 1, 2, 11, and 12; and the east halves of sections 3 and 10. In each of these listings, "all" means the entire numbered section belongs to the park, while a fraction like "west half" or "southwest quarter" means only that portion of the section is included.
