18 U.S.C. § 604 — Solicitation from persons on relief

This section prohibits seeking political contributions from people receiving federally funded work-relief or relief benefits. A violator may be fined, imprisoned for up to one year, or both.
Whoever seeks, receives, or takes part in seeking or receiving a political assessment, subscription, or contribution from a person the seeker knows is entitled to, or receives, compensation, employment, or another benefit provided or made possible by a congressional appropriation for work relief or relief purposes may be fined under this title, imprisoned for no more than one year, or both.
Whoever solicits or receives or is in any manner concerned in soliciting or receiving any assessment, subscription, or contribution for any political purpose from any person known by him to be entitled to, or receiving compensation, employment, or other benefit provided for or made possible by any Act of Congress appropriating funds for work relief or relief purposes, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.
