Votes for members of Congress must use a written or printed ballot. A voting machine works too, if state law allows it. Any vote cast another way does not count.
Every vote for a Representative in Congress must be cast using a written or printed ballot.
A voting machine may be used instead, but only if state law has properly authorized that machine.
Any vote received or recorded in a way that breaks this rule has no legal effect.
All votes for Representatives in Congress must be by written or printed ballot, or voting machine the use of which has been duly authorized by the State law; and all votes received or recorded contrary to this section shall be of no effect.
