This law protects the title 'pharmacist.' If you're a U.S. national but aren't legally licensed as a pharmacist, you can't call yourself a pharmacist, druggist, or apothecary. Using any similar title without a license is also illegal.
This section makes it illegal for someone whose permanent allegiance is owed to the United States to use certain professional titles without a license. If that person is not legally licensed as a pharmacist, they cannot call themselves a "pharmacist," a "licensed pharmacist," or a "registered pharmacist." They also cannot use the title "druggist" or "apothecary." The law also bans any other title or description that carries the same meaning as those titles.
It shall be unlawful for any person whose permanent allegiance is due to the United States, not legally licensed as a pharmacist, to take, use, or exhibit the title of pharmacist, or licensed or registered pharmacist, or the title of druggist or apothecary, or any other title or description of like import.
