Anyone who knowingly packs or sells apple barrels in violation of sections 20 to 23 owes a $1 penalty plus costs per barrel. The United States can sue to recover this penalty in any court with jurisdiction.
This law sets a penalty for violating sections 20 to 23 of this title, which deal with packing and selling apples in barrels. Any person, firm, corporation, or association that knowingly packs or causes to be packed apples in barrels, or that knowingly sells or offers for sale such barrels, in violation of sections 20 to 23, is liable for a penalty of $1 and costs for each such barrel so sold or offered for sale. The United States can recover this penalty by suit in any court of the United States that has jurisdiction over the matter.
Any person, firm or corporation, or association who shall knowingly pack or cause to be packed apples in barrels or who shall knowingly sell or offer for sale such barrels in violation of the provisions of sections 20 to 23 of this title shall be liable to a penalty of $1 and costs for each such barrel so sold or offered for sale, to be recovered at the suit of the United States in any court of the United States having jurisdiction.
