21 U.S.C. § 360hh — Definitions

(1) "Electronic product radiation" means any ionizing or non-ionizing electromagnetic or particle radiation, or any sonic, infrasonic, or ultrasonic wave, that an electronic product gives off because an electronic circuit inside it is running. (2) An "electronic product" is either: (A) any manufactured or assembled product that, when running, contains or works as part of an electronic circuit, and that emits (or would emit, without shielding or other controls) electronic product radiation; or (B) any manufactured or assembled part or accessory meant for use with such a product, that itself emits (or would emit, without shielding or controls) that radiation when running. (3) "Manufacturer" means anyone in the business of manufacturing, assembling, or importing electronic products. (4) "Commerce" means (A) commerce between one state and somewhere outside it, and (B) commerce entirely within the District of Columbia. (5) "State" includes the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa.
