25 U.S.C. § 5308 — Grant and cooperative agreements

This chapter does not have to follow title 31, chapter 63. If the appropriate Secretary and tribal organization agree, a grant or cooperative agreement may replace a contract under section 5321.
The requirements of title 31, chapter 63 do not apply to this chapter. If the appropriate Secretary* and tribal organization mutually agree, a grant or cooperative agreement may be used instead of a section 5321 contract.
The provisions of this chapter shall not be subject to the requirements of chapter 63 of title 31: Provided, That a grant agreement or a cooperative agreement may be utilized in lieu of a contract under section 5321 1 of this title when mutually agreed to by the appropriate Secretary* and the tribal organization involved.
