25 U.S.C. § 5502 — Designation of tribes

This subsection lists 17 tribes, their reservations, the submarginal-land projects donated to them, and estimated acreage. The Interior Secretary must publish the conveyed lands' boundaries and descriptions; the acreage estimates do not change the grant's legal scope.
(a) Land descriptions. The lands that section 5501(a) declares to be held in trust for the listed tribes are generally described in this table:
- Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin — Bad River Reservation; Bad River LI–WI–8 project; about 13,148.81 acres.
- Blackfeet Tribe — Blackfeet Reservation; Blackfeet LI–MT–9; 9,036.73 acres.
- Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma — Delaware Reservation; Delaware LI–OK–4; 18,749.19 acres; Adair LI–OK–5; acreage not stated.
- Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe — Cheyenne River Reservation; Cheyenne Indian LI–SD–13; 3,738.47 acres.
- Crow Creek Sioux Tribe — Crow Creek Reservation; Crow Creek LI–SD–10; 19,169.89 acres.
- Lower Brule Sioux Tribe — Lower Brule Reservation; Lower Brule LI–SD–10; 13,209.22 acres.
- Devils Lake Sioux Tribe — Fort Totten Reservation; Fort Totten LI–ND–11; 1,424.45 acres.
- Fort Belknap Indian Community — Fort Belknap Reservation; Fort Belknap LI–MT–8; 25,530.10 acres.
- Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes — Fort Peck Reservation; Fort Peck LI–MT–6; 85,835.52 acres.
- Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians — Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation; Lac Courte LI–WI–9; 13,184.65 acres.
- Keweenaw Bay Indian Community — L'Anse Reservation; L'Anse LI–MI–8; 4,016.49 acres.
- Minnesota Chippewa Tribe — White Earth Reservation; Twin Lakes LI–MN–6; 28,544.80 acres; Flat Lake LI–MN–15; acreage not stated.
- Navajo Tribe — Navajo Reservation; Gallup-Two Wells LI–NM–18; 69,947.24 acres.
- Oglala Sioux Tribe — Pine Ridge Reservation; Pine Ridge LI–SD–7; 18,064.48 acres.
- Rosebud Sioux Tribe — Rosebud Reservation; Cutmeat LI–SD–8; 28,734.59 acres; Antelope LI–SD–9; acreage not stated.
- Shoshone-Bannock Tribes — Fort Hall Reservation; Fort Hall LI–ID–2; 8,711.00 acres.
- Standing Rock Sioux Tribe — Standing Rock Reservation; Standing Rock LI–ND–10; 10,255.50 acres; Standing Rock LI–SD–10; acreage not stated.
(b) Publication and acreage estimates. The Interior Secretary* must publish in the Federal Register the boundaries and descriptions of the lands conveyed by this chapter. The acreage figures above are estimates. They do not expand or limit the United States grant defined in section 5501.
The lands, declared by section 5501(a) of this title to be held in trust by the United States for the benefit of the Indian tribes named in this section, are generally described as follows:

The Secretary* of the Interior shall cause to be published in the Federal Register the boundaries and descriptions of the lands conveyed by this chapter. The acreages set out in the preceding subsection are estimates and shall not be construed as expanding or limiting the grant of the United States as defined in section 5501 of this title.
