42 U.S.C. § 12353 — Establishment of National Center on Family Resource and Support Programs

(a) Establishment. The Commissioner must set up a national center, through a grant or contract, to collect and share program information and give technical assistance about all types of family resource and support programs. It is called the "National Center on Family Resource and Support Programs." (b) Functions. This national center acts as a national clearinghouse for information and data, and a source of training, technical assistance, and materials. It must: (1) build and maintain a system for sharing information about all kinds of family resource and support programs and how the field is developing, including information on the most effective models; (2) develop and sponsor training institutes and curricula for program staff; (3) identify sample programs of each type to develop technical assistance materials that help other agencies start similar programs; and (4) build statewide networks of these programs so information can be shared and spread.
