52 U.S.C. § 30105 — Reports on convention financing

submitted 54 years ago by Pub. L. 92-225 to r/title-52-VOTING-AND-ELECTIONS · 149 words · no verdicts yet

in plain englishAI-generated · not legal advice

This law makes convention-planning groups report their finances to the FEC. A group must file within 60 days after a party's presidential nominating convention ends. The report must show where the money came from and how it was spent.

Any committee or group that either represents a state or part of one, or a group of people, in dealing with a national political party about a convention held there to nominate a candidate for President or Vice President, or represents a national political party in arranging that convention, must file a full and complete financial statement with the Commission. The statement is due within 60 days after the convention ends, but no later than 20 days before the date presidential and vice-presidential electors are chosen — whichever comes first. It must be filed in whatever form and level of detail the Commission requires, and must show where the group got its money and what it spent that money on.
