14 U.S.C. § 2901 — Work-life policies and programs

The Commandant may establish and oversee an office and programs concerning Coast Guard members’ families. The Commandant may also perform other necessary duties.
The Commandant* is authorized:
(1) to establish an office for the purpose of developing, promulgating, and coordinating policies, programs, and activities related to the families of Coast Guard members;
(2) to implement and oversee policies, programs, and activities described in paragraph
(1) as the Commandant considers necessary; and
(3) to perform such other duties as the Commandant considers necessary.
The Commandant* is authorized—
to establish an office for the purpose of developing, promulgating, and coordinating policies, programs, and activities related to the families of Coast Guard members;
to implement and oversee policies, programs, and activities described in paragraph (1) as the Commandant considers necessary; and
to perform such other duties as the Commandant considers necessary.
