When properly notified that construction or repair of a United States pierhead on the northern or northwestern lakes is complete, the Coast Guard Commandant must mark it properly.
The Commandant* of the Coast Guard must properly mark every United States pierhead on the northern and northwestern lakes after the department responsible for constructing or repairing pierheads properly notifies the Commandant that its construction or repair is complete.
The Commandant* of the Coast Guard shall properly mark all pierheads belonging to the United States situated on the northern and northwestern lakes, whenever he is duly notified by the department charged with the construction or repair of pierheads that the construction or repair of any such pierhead has been completed.
