15 U.S.C. § 657l — Comprehensive disaster response plan

(a) Plan required. The Administrator must develop, carry out, or maintain a comprehensive written disaster-response plan. It must include (1) for each Administration region, the disasters most likely there; and (2) for each such disaster, (A) an assessment of the disaster; (B) an assessment of likely demand for Administration assistance; (C) an assessment of needed information technology, telecommunications, human resources, office space, and other resources; and (D) guidelines for coordinating with other Federal agencies and State and local authorities to meet that demand and use those resources best. (b) Completion; revision. The first plan must be completed within 180 days after this section was enacted. The Administrator must update it every year and after any major disaster for which the Administrator declares eligibility for additional assistance under section 636(b)(9). (c) Knowledge required. An individual with substantial knowledge of disaster readiness and emergency response must carry out subsections (a) and (b). (d) Report. Whenever the Administration submits the report required by section 657o, the Administrator must include a report on the plan.
