This section expands the meaning of “function” and “perform” when those words are used in this chapter.
In this chapter, “function” or “functions” includes, as appropriate, a duty, obligation, power, authority, responsibility, right, privilege, or activity, including the plural of any of them. When “perform” or “performance” relates to functions, it includes exercising powers, authority, rights, and privileges.
As used in this chapter—
any reference to “function” or “functions” shall be deemed to include references to duty, obligation, power, authority, responsibility, right, privilege, and activity, or the plural thereof, as the case may be; and
any reference to “perform” or “performance”, when used in relation to functions, shall be deemed to include the exercise of power, authority, rights, and privileges.
