15 U.S.C. § 78gg — Separability

This is a severability clause. If a court finds one part of this chapter, or its application to some person or situation, invalid, the rest of the chapter still stands. It keeps applying to everyone and every situation not affected by that ruling.
This section has no lettered subsections. If any court holds a provision of this chapter invalid — either the provision itself, or applying it to a specific person* or situation — that ruling doesn't affect the rest of the chapter. Every other provision stays in force. And that same provision keeps applying to any other person or situation it covers, as long as those weren't the ones the court ruled invalid.
If any provision of this chapter, or the application of such provision to any person* or circumstances, shall be held invalid, the remainder of the chapter and the application of such provision to persons or circumstances other than those as to which it is held invalid, shall not be affected thereby.
