15 U.S.C. § 8563 — Definitions

This section defines three terms used in this subchapter: (1) Administrator. This means the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere, who also serves as the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). (2) National Academies. This means the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. (3) United States. This means, together, every U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and any other U.S. territory or possession.
