15 U.S.C. § 8710 — Suspension or termination

(a) Mandatory suspension or termination: The Secretary must suspend or terminate an order, or a provision of it, if the Secretary finds it obstructs or doesn't tend to effectuate this chapter's purpose, or if the Secretary determines it isn't favored by a majority of all votes cast in the referendum described in section 8706(a)(2). (b) Implementation of suspension or termination: If a referendum conducted under section 8706 leads the Secretary to determine the order isn't approved, the Secretary must: (1) suspend or terminate collection of assessments under the order within 180 days of making that determination; and (2) suspend or terminate activities under the order as soon as practicable, in an orderly manner.
