16 U.S.C. § 213 — Execution of instruments necessary to carry out purposes of gift

This section is a single, undivided rule. It authorizes two officials — the President of the United States and the Secretary of War — to execute, in the name of the United States, whatever instrument or instruments may be, or may later become, necessary. The purpose is to comply with, or carry out, the terms and conditions of "such gift or gifts" — referring to the gift described in the surrounding sections of this chapter — and to secure the full benefit from it. The section does not itself list what those terms and conditions are; they are set out in the gift documents referenced elsewhere in this chapter.
