16 U.S.C. § 392b — Conveyance of added lands to United States by Governor

This is a short authorization. The Governor of the Territory of Hawaii may convey — meaning legally transfer ownership of — any and all land and land interests to the United States. But only land that the Territorial Government acquired under the rules in sections 391b, 391b-1, 392c, 396, and 396a of this title qualifies. This section does not describe how that land was acquired under those other sections — it only gives the Governor the power to hand it over to the federal government once it has been acquired that way. The word "authorized" makes this permissive, not mandatory. The Governor may make the transfer, but is not required to.
