Building renewable energy facilities is banned on about 27,990 acres of federal land at Juniper Flats, shown on a 2018 BLM map. Power lines and telecommunication facilities are still allowed.
Renewable energy generation facilities cannot be built on roughly 27,990 acres of federal land at Juniper Flats. This land is marked "BLM Land Unavailable for Energy Development" on a map called "Juniper Flats," dated November 7, 2018. The ban has one carve-out: it does not cover rights-of-way or facilities used to transmit energy, or telecommunication facilities and infrastructure — those are still allowed.
Development of renewable energy generation facilities (excluding rights-of-way or facilities for the transmission of energy and telecommunication facilities and infrastructure) is prohibited on the approximately 27,990 acres of Federal land generally depicted as “BLM Land Unavailable for Energy Development” on the map entitled “Juniper Flats” and dated November 7, 2018.
