16 U.S.C. § 410eeee–3 — Lands and areas plan; submission to Congressional committees

Within two years of November 10, 1978, the Secretary had to give a detailed written plan to the House Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs, the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, and both chambers' Appropriations Committees. The plan had to show: (i) which lands and areas the Secretary believes are essential to protect and let the public enjoy the national river's natural, scenic, and historic value; (ii) which lands the Secretary has already bought, received as gifts, traded for, or gotten by transfer for the national river; (iii) a proposed yearly land-buying plan, including funding levels, for the next four fiscal years; and (iv) whether it would be workable and fitting to add the stretch of the New River between Fayetteville and Gauley Bridge to the national river's boundaries, and why.
