This section explains the purpose of Pecos National Historical Park in New Mexico. It recognizes the many cultures that met in the Pecos area. The Pecos area is a "gateway" between the Great Plains and the Rio Grande Valley. It also protects the Forked Lightning Ranch's resources.
The purpose of this subchapter is:
(1) to recognize the multitheme history of the Pecos area — including the cultural interaction among diverse groups of people — and its "gateway" role between the Great Plains and the Rio Grande Valley; and
(2) to provide for preserving and interpreting the cultural and natural resources of the Forked Lightning Ranch by establishing the Pecos National Historical Park.
The purpose of this subchapter is—
to recognize the multitheme history, including the cultural interaction among diverse groups of people, of the Pecos area and its “gateway” role between the Great Plains and the Rio Grande Valley, and
to provide for the preservation and interpretation of the cultural and natural resources of the Forked Lightning Ranch by establishing the Pecos National Historical Park.
