16 U.S.C. § 430uu–2 — Acquisition of land; exclusion from Beaverhead National Forest; administration

This section explains how the added Big Hole land is acquired and managed. (a) The Secretary of the Interior may acquire land and land interests within the area described in section 430uu–1 of this title. The Secretary may do this by donation, purchase, exchange, or other methods. (b) Any of that land that was part of the Beaverhead National Forest as of May 17, 1963, is removed from the forest. That land is instead added to the Big Hole National Battlefield. (c) All land included in the Big Hole National Battlefield under sections 430uu through 430uu–4 of this title must be managed under the Act of August 25, 1916 (39 Stat. 535; 16 U.S.C. 1–3), the law titled "An Act to establish a National Park Service, and for other purposes," including its later amendments and additions.
