16 U.S.C. § 450m — Acceptance of donations of lands and funds; acquisition of land

This section lets the Secretary of the Interior accept donations of land, interests in land, buildings, structures, and other property within the boundaries of the national monument referred to in this section (the supplied text does not name it). The Secretary may also accept donated funds for purchasing or maintaining that property. Whatever title and evidence of title the Secretary receives must be satisfactory to the Secretary. There is a further authorization: using donated funds, the Secretary may acquire, on behalf of the United States, tracts of land within the national monument by purchase at prices the Secretary deems reasonable, or by condemnation under section 3113 of title 40, whenever necessary to complete the monument.
