Congress designated three areas of the Chattahoochee National Forest in Georgia as wilderness: Blood Mountain Wilderness (about 7,800 acres), Mark Trail Wilderness (about 16,880 acres), and an addition to Brasstown Wilderness (about 1,160 acres). The Secretary of Agriculture must manage them under the Wilderness Act, treating December 11, 1991 as that Act's effective date for these areas.

(a) Designation. To carry out the Wilderness Act's goals, Congress designated three areas in the Chattahoochee National Forest, Georgia, as wilderness and added them to the National Wilderness Preservation System: (1) about 7,800 acres, shown on a 1991 map, called Blood Mountain Wilderness; (2) about 16,880 acres, shown on a 1991 map, called Mark Trail Wilderness; and (3) about 1,160 acres, shown on a 1991 map, added to the existing Brasstown Wilderness created by a 1986 Georgia wilderness law. (b) Administration. Subject to existing valid rights, the Secretary of Agriculture must manage each area under the Wilderness Act's rules for designated wilderness. Wherever the Wilderness Act refers to its own effective date, that date is treated as December 11, 1991 for these areas.
