Congress creates the Land Between the Lakes Trust Fund in the U.S. Treasury. The Secretary can spend it on education, grants, internships, and regional promotion tied to the area. The Tennessee Valley Authority must add $1,000,000 a year for the first five years after the transfer.
(a) Establishment - This section creates an interest-bearing special fund in the U.S. Treasury called the "Land Between the Lakes Trust Fund."
(b) Availability - The Secretary* may spend Fund money, until it's used up, on: (1) public education, grants, and internships related to recreation, conservation, and multiple-use land management in the Recreation Area*, and (2) promoting the region, working with development districts, chambers of commerce, and state* and local governments.
(c) Deposits - The Tennessee Valley Authority must deposit $1,000,000 into the Fund every year, for 5 years starting in the first fiscal year after the transfer. Money to pay for this comes from the funding described in section 460lll-49.
There is established in the Treasury of the United States a special interest-bearing fund known as the “Land Between the Lakes Trust Fund”.
Amounts in the Fund shall be available to the Secretary*, until expended, for—
public education, grants, and internships related to recreation, conservation, and multiple use land management in the Recreation Area*; and
regional promotion in the Recreation Area, in cooperation with development districts, chambers of commerce, and State* and local governments.
The Tennessee Valley Authority shall deposit into the Fund $1,000,000 annually for each of the 5 fiscal years commencing in the first fiscal year of the transfer. Funding to carry out this section shall be derived from funding described in section 460lll–49 of this title.
