16 U.S.C. § 470aaa–1 — Management

(a) In general. The Secretary must manage and protect paleontological resources on federal land using scientific principles and expertise. The Secretary must develop plans for taking inventory of these resources, monitoring them, and allowing them to be used for science and education, following the laws, regulations, and policies of the relevant agency. These plans should emphasize working with other agencies and, where possible, teaming up with non-federal partners, scientists, and the public. (b) Coordination. As much as possible, the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture must coordinate with each other in carrying out this chapter.
