The President can cancel, change, or pause any executive order that created a national forest. This includes shrinking a forest's size or moving its boundary lines. The President decides based on what's best for the public.
The President of the United States has the power to cancel, change, or pause any executive order or proclamation -- or any part of one -- that was issued to create a national forest under section 471 of this title. The President can do this whenever they think it best serves the public interest. By changing an order this way, the President may shrink a forest's size, move its boundary lines, or cancel the order entirely and eliminate the national forest.
The President of the United States is authorized and empowered to revoke, modify, or suspend any and all Executive orders and proclamations or any part thereof issued under section 471 1 of this title, from time to time as he shall deem best for the public interests. By such modification he may reduce the area or change the boundary lines or may vacate altogether any order creating a national forest.
