The Secretary of Agriculture must appoint listed Forest Service personnel based on fitness, without considering political affiliation.
The Secretary of Agriculture must appoint forest inspectors, superintendents, supervisors, surveyors, rangers, and fire patrol based entirely on fitness and without regard to political affiliation.
Forest inspectors, superintendents, supervisors, surveyors, rangers, and fire patrol are to be hereafter appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture wholly with reference to their fitness and without regard for their political affiliations.
