Starting October 5, 1992, Forest Service appropriations may pay transportation, lodging, and subsistence for student interns who meet the stated student and work requirements.
Starting October 5, 1992, Forest Service funds may pay student interns’ transportation, lodging, and subsistence. A student intern is an employee who assists scientific, professional, or technical employees and is a bona fide student at an accredited college or university pursuing courses related to the employment field.
On and after October 5, 1992, funds appropriated to the Department of Agriculture, Forest Service may be used to pay transportation, lodging, and subsistence expenses of student interns, defined as employees who assist scientific, professional, or technical employees and who are bona fide students of accredited colleges or universities who are pursuing courses related to the field in which employed.
