The Secretary of the Interior must develop a plan to restore and conserve "Tule elk", including habitat management. The plan must be coordinated with the responsible federal, state, and other officers and integrated with comparable California state and local plans.
The Secretary of the Interior must coordinate with every federal, state, and other officer who has jurisdiction over land where "Tule elk" herds live or land that could provide suitable "Tule elk" habitat. The Secretary must develop a plan for restoring and conserving "Tule elk", including managing their habitat. The plan must be integrated with comparable plans made by state and local authorities in California. This section does not define "Tule elk."
The Secretary of the Interior, in coordination with all Federal, State, and other officers having jurisdiction over lands on which Tule elk herds are located or lands which would provide suitable Tule elk habitat, shall develop a plan for Tule elk restoration and conservation, including habitat management, which shall be integrated with the comparable plans of State and local authorities in California.
