16 U.S.C. § 79–1 — Yosemite National Park; expansion of reservoir capacity
submitted 38 years ago by Pub. L. 100-563 to r/title-16-CONSERVATION · 45 words · no verdicts yet
No federal land can be used to make any reservoir bigger if that reservoir sits inside Yosemite National Park. This ban applies regardless of any other law. Congress must pass a specific new law approving the expansion before it can happen, and that had to happen after October 31, 1988.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no Federal lands may be used for the expansion of the capacity of any reservoir which is located within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park unless Congress enacts specific statutory authorization after October 31, 1988, for such expansion.
