16 U.S.C. § 80a–2 — Lands excluded from Sequoia National Forest and added to Kings Canyon National Park

This law transfers a specific tract of land out of the Sequoia National Forest and into the Kings Canyon National Park. Congress made this change for two reasons: to make it easier to maintain a park road, and to give the park property that could be useful for future use and development. The land is located in section 7, township 14 south, range 28 east, measured by the Mount Diablo meridian survey system. The exact pieces of land moved are: the east half of the northeast quarter; the east half of the west half of the northeast quarter; the northeast quarter of the southeast quarter; the east half of the northwest quarter of the southeast quarter; and the parts of the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter, and of the east half of the southwest quarter of the southeast quarter, that lie north of the right-of-way of State Highway 180.
