16 U.S.C. § 956 — Inspection of returns, records, or other reports

Authorized enforcement people and people authorized by the commissions may inspect required catch returns, statistical records, and other reports. They may do so without a warrant or other process at any reasonable time.
A person* authorized to enforce this chapter, and a person authorized by the commissions, may inspect—without a warrant or other legal process and at any reasonable time—catch returns, statistical records, and other reports that regulations adopted under this chapter require people to make, keep, or provide. This section does not define “the commissions” or “reasonable time.”
Any person* authorized to carry out enforcement activities under this chapter and any person authorized by the commissions shall have power without warrant or other process, to inspect, at any reasonable time, catch returns, statistical records, or other reports as are required by regulations adopted pursuant to this chapter to be made, kept, or furnished.
