2 U.S.C. § 155Compensation and expenses of Library of Congress Trust Fund Board

submitted 101 years ago by ch. 423 to r/title-2-THE-CONGRESS · 107 words · no verdicts yet

in plain englishAI-generated · not legal advice

Board members get no pay for their service but are reimbursed for necessary expenses. The chairman's voucher is enough proof that expenses are allowed. Expenses not covered by trust fund income get included in the Library's annual budget request.

Members of the Library of Congress Trust Fund Board do not get paid for serving on the board. But they do get reimbursed for expenses they must pay to do their job, using income from whichever trust fund caused the expense. The board chairman's voucher, an expense form, is enough proof that an expense is properly allowed, and no extra evidence is required. If some board expenses, including the cost of its official seal, cannot properly be charged to any trust fund's income, those costs get estimated and included in the Librarian's yearly budget request for running the Library of Congress.

No compensation shall be paid to the members of the board for their services as such members, but they shall be reimbursed for the expenses necessarily incurred by them, out of the income from the fund or funds in connection with which such expenses are incurred. The voucher of the chairman of the board shall be sufficient evidence that the expenses are properly allowable. Any expenses of the board, including the cost of its seal, not properly chargeable to the income of any trust fund held by it, shall be estimated for in the annual estimates of the librarian for the maintenance of the Library of Congress.
