2 U.S.C. § 1823 — Acquisition of real property for Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate

(1) The Architect of the Capitol may buy, lease, receive by transfer from another Federal entity, or otherwise acquire real property for the Senate Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper to support Senate operations. This requires approval by the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, available appropriations, and an obligation plan approved by the Senate Committee on Appropriations. (2) With that Appropriations Committee's approval, the Secretary of the Senate may transfer funds for acquiring or maintaining the property from the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper contingent-expenses account to the Architect of the Capitol's Senate Office Buildings account. (3) This section applies to fiscal year 2007 and every later fiscal year.
