2 U.S.C. § 282e — Authorization of appropriations

This section authorizes Congress to appropriate — set aside — money for the Office of the Legislative Counsel. It covers "the fiscal year ending June 30, 1971, and for each fiscal year thereafter," so it applies every year going forward, not just once. The amount isn't fixed; Congress can appropriate "such sums as may be necessary." The money is meant for two purposes: to "carry out this subchapter" — the broader set of laws this section is part of — and to "increase the efficiency of the Office and the quality of the services which it provides."
