2 U.S.C. § 4575a — Change in maximum rates of pay for statutory employees

For statutory positions paid by the Secretary of the Senate, the President pro tempore sets the pay rate or maximum pay rate after the specified amendments take effect. Neither may exceed the maximum rate under 2 U.S.C. § 4575(f).
(i) Fixed salary positions. For a position whose pay is disbursed by the Secretary of the Senate and whose specific pay rate was fixed by statute on the day before the amendments made by this section take effect, the President pro tempore must set the rate on and after that effective date. The rate may not exceed the maximum rate then in effect under 2 U.S.C. § 4575(f).
(ii) Positions with maximums. For a position whose pay is disbursed by the Secretary of the Senate and whose maximum pay rate was fixed by statute on the day before the amendments take effect, the President pro tempore must set the maximum rate on and after that date. It may not exceed the maximum rate then in effect under 2 U.S.C. § 4575(f).
For any position for which the Secretary of the Senate disburses the pay for the position and for which the specific amount of the rate of pay for the particular position is fixed by statute on the day before the effective date of the amendments made by this section, on and after such effective date the amount of the rate of pay for such position shall be fixed by the President pro tempore in an amount not to exceed the maximum rate of pay in effect under section 4575(f) of this title.
For any position for which the Secretary of the Senate disburses the pay for the position and for which the maximum rate of pay for the particular position is fixed by statute on the day before the effective date of the amendments made by this section, on and after such effective date the maximum rate of pay for such position shall be fixed by the President pro tempore, which shall not exceed the maximum rate of pay in effect under section 4575(f) of this title.
