2 U.S.C. § 4912 — Membership of Page Board

(a) Appointed and designated members. The Page Board consists of: (1) two House Members appointed by the Speaker and two appointed by the minority leader; (2) one person who is or was, at some time during the five years ending on the appointment date, a parent of a page participating in the program; (3) one former House page who is not a House Member and is not a person described in paragraph (2); and (4) the Clerk and the Sergeant at Arms of the House.

(b) Special rules for parent and former-page members. For the members described in subsection (a)(2) and (3): (1) the Speaker and minority leader of the House must appoint each member jointly; (2) each member serves a one-year term and may be appointed again for additional terms if the member still meets the appointment requirements; (3) a vacancy must be filled in the same way as the original appointment, and the replacement serves the rest of the original term and may be reappointed under paragraph (2); and (4) the member may be paid travel or transportation costs, including a daily allowance instead of subsistence, for attending Page Board meetings while away from home or the member’s place of business. The applicable House accounts may receive whatever sums are necessary to make these payments.

(c) “Member of the House” defined. In sections 4911 through 4913 of this title, “Member of the House” means a Representative in Congress and a Delegate or Resident Commissioner to Congress.
