The Board may appoint regional award directors on the Director’s recommendation. Before recommending someone for an area, the Director must seek recommendations from youth organizations there.
The Board may appoint a regional award director for any State or other appropriate United States geographic area, on the Director’s recommendation. Before recommending an appointment for a State or area, the Director must seek recommendations from public and private youth organizations in that State or area.
Regional award directors may be appointed by the Board, upon recommendation of the Director, for any State or other appropriate geographic area of the United States. The Director shall make such recommendations with respect to a State or geographic area only after soliciting recommendations regarding such appointments from public and private youth organizations within such State or geographic area.
