The Secretary must provide public information about diploma mills and work with several Federal agencies to prevent and prosecute them.
(a) Information to the public. The Secretary* must keep information and resources on the Department’s website to help students, families, and employers understand what a diploma mill* is and identify and avoid diploma mills. This section does not define “diploma mill.”
(b) Collaboration. The Secretary must continue working with the Postal Service, Federal Trade Commission, Department* of Justice including the FBI, Internal Revenue Service, and Office of Personnel Management to maximize Federal efforts to (1) prevent, identify, and prosecute diploma mills, and (2) broadly share public information and resources for identifying them.
The Secretary* shall maintain information and resources on the Department’s website to assist students, families, and employers in understanding what a diploma mill* is and how to identify and avoid diploma mills.
The Secretary shall continue to collaborate with the United States Postal Service, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department* of Justice (including the Federal Bureau of Investigation), the Internal Revenue Service, and the Office of Personnel Management to maximize Federal efforts to—
prevent, identify, and prosecute diploma mills; and
broadly disseminate to the public information about diploma mills, and resources to identify diploma mills.
