20 U.S.C. § 2399 — Study on programs of study aligned to high-skill, high-wage occupations

(a) The Comptroller General must study (1) strategies, components, policies, and practices used by funded eligible agencies and recipients to help (A) all students pursue and complete programs of study aligned with high-skill, high-wage occupations and (B) special populations or subgroups identified in section 6311(h)(1)(C)(ii) pursue and complete such programs in fields where they are underrepresented; and (2) challenges in copying those approaches. (b) The Comptroller General must consult a geographically diverse group, including urban, suburban, and rural participants: (1) students and parents; (2) eligible agencies and recipients; (3) teachers, faculty, specialized instructional-support personnel, and paraprofessionals, including experts preparing students for nontraditional fields; (4) Indian Tribes and Tribal organizations; (5) special populations; and (6) business and industry representatives. (c) After completion, the Comptroller General must submit the study to the House Education and Workforce Committee and Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
