Congress authorized whatever sums are needed, starting in fiscal year 2020, to fund the women's history museum. This covers planning, design, construction, and operations. These funds stay available until fully spent, and may fund private fundraising too.
(a) In general: Congress authorized appropriating whatever sums are necessary to the Smithsonian Institution to carry out this subchapter — including planning, designing, building, and operating the Museum established under section 80t–1 — for fiscal year 2020 and each fiscal year after that.
(b) Availability: Money appropriated under this section's authorization stays available until it is fully spent.
(c) Fundraising: This money can also be used to run fundraising for the Museum from private sources.
There are authorized to be appropriated to the Smithsonian Institution to carry out this subchapter,1 including the planning, design, construction, and operation of the Museum established under section 80t–1 of this title, such sums as may be necessary for fiscal year 2020 and each succeeding fiscal year.
Amounts appropriated pursuant to the authorization under this section shall remain available until expended.
Amounts appropriated pursuant to the authorization under this section may be used to conduct fundraising in support of the Museum from private sources.
