21 U.S.C. § 321d — Market names for catfish and ginseng

(a) Catfish labeling. (1) In general. Despite any other law, under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the term "catfish" can only count as a common or usual name for fish in the Ictaluridae family. Only labeling or advertising for fish in that family may use the word "catfish." (2) [This part was left out of the U.S. Code.] (b) Ginseng labeling. (1) In general. Despite any other law, under the same Act, the term "ginseng" can only count as a common or usual name for an herb or herbal ingredient from a plant in the Panax genus. Only labeling or advertising for herbs or herbal ingredients in that genus may use the word "ginseng." (2) [This part was left out of the U.S. Code.]
