U.S. courts have power over violations of this law even if they happen outside the country. This applies if the regulated product was meant to be imported into the United States. It also applies if any act helping the violation happened inside the United States.
This section gives the United States legal power (jurisdiction) over violations of this chapter even when they happen outside the country, as long as one of two things is true: the regulated article involved was meant to be imported into the United States, or some act that helped carry out the violation took place inside the United States.
There is extraterritorial jurisdiction over any violation of this chapter relating to any article regulated under this chapter if such article was intended for import into the United States or if any act in furtherance of the violation was committed in the United States.
