Within 30 days after receiving certain federally funded research reports or written products, the Secretary must send Congress the product, its original proposal, the Department’s payment, and a description of its value.
Within 30 days after receiving a report or other written product from a federally funded research and development center or consultant group supported by money Congress appropriated to the Department, the Secretary must give the appropriate congressional committees: (1) the report or product and its original proposal; (2) the amount the Department paid the center; and (3) a detailed description of the value the Department received from it.
Not later than 30 days after receiving a report or other written product provided to the Department by federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs) and consultant groups that were supported by funds congressionally appropriated to the Department, the Secretary shall provide the appropriate congressional committees—
the report or written product, including the original proposal for the report;
the amount provided by the Department to the FFRDC; and
a detailed description of the value the Department derived from the report.
