The President can give the Liaison Office of the People's Republic of China in Washington, and its members, the same privileges and immunities as accredited diplomatic missions get. The President decides the specific terms and conditions.
Under terms and conditions the President decides, and consistent with this section's purposes, the President is authorized to extend to the Liaison Office of the People's Republic of China in Washington, and to its members, the same privileges and immunities — along with the matching conditions and obligations — enjoyed by accredited diplomatic missions and their members.
Under such terms and conditions as he shall determine and consonant with the purposes of this section, the President is authorized to extend to the Liaison Office of the People’s Republic of China in Washington and to the members thereof the same privileges and immunities subject to corresponding conditions and obligations as are enjoyed by diplomatic missions accredited to the United States and by members thereof.
