This section permits the Secretary to lend basic household furnishings and equipment to Service members. The purpose is to avoid transportation costs.
To eliminate transportation costs, the Secretary may provide Service members with basic household furnishings and equipment on loan for use in residences they own or lease.
The Secretary may, as a means of eliminating transportation costs, provide members of the Service with basic household furnishing and equipment for use on a loan basis in personally owned or leased residences.
