22 U.S.C. § 4902 — Fellowship Board

(a) A Fellowship Board, called the “Board” in this chapter, is established to select people eligible to serve as Fellows. (b) The Board has seven members: (1) a senior State Department official designated by the Secretary of State, who chairs the Board; (2) a Commerce Department officer or employee designated by the Secretary of Commerce; and (3) five academic specialists in international affairs or foreign languages appointed by the Secretary of State after consultation with the specified House and Senate foreign-affairs committee leaders. (c) The Board must meet at least once each year to select eligible Fellows. (d) Members receive no compensation for Board service. While away from home or their regular business locations performing duties under this chapter, they may receive travel expenses, including daily living allowances instead of subsistence, in the same way intermittent government employees may receive expenses under 5 U.S.C. § 5703.
