This is a non-binding statement encouraging U.S. businesses to help fight HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. Congress suggests they consider setting up a joint HIV/AIDS Response Fund to coordinate their donations.
This is a sense of Congress — a statement of intent, not a binding rule. It says Congress believes United States businesses should be encouraged to provide assistance to sub-Saharan African countries to prevent and reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS* there. It also says these businesses should be encouraged to consider setting up an HIV*/AIDS* Response Fund, so their assistance efforts can be coordinated when collecting and distributing aid to sub-Saharan African countries.
It is the sense of Congress that United States businesses should be encouraged to provide assistance to sub-Saharan African countries to prevent and reduce the incidence of HIV/AIDS* in sub-Saharan Africa. In providing such assistance, United States businesses should be encouraged to consider the establishment of an HIV*/AIDS* Response Fund in order to provide for coordination among such businesses in the collection and distribution of the assistance to sub-Saharan African countries.
